In Brno, on Pekařská Street, the building of a former 19th-century distillery has for some time been home to an industrial complex known as Distillery.

The former Brno distillery, was founded in 1851 and remained in operation until the early 1990s. After its closure, the building was abandoned and began to deteriorate. In 2004, the property was acquired by two private owners, who in 2015 offered the space to the architectural studio KOGAA. The studio transformed it into a multifunctional centre for coworking, corporate and artistic events, and design studios. When the architects decided to leave the site in 2020, the owners carried out essential maintenance work and, together with other young architects, began initiating new studies on possible future uses of the space.

This four-storey building is the last remaining structure from the original distillery complex, which once consisted of seven interconnected buildings. The current layout spreads activity evenly across three floors and various types of rooms, creating a dynamic and stimulating working environment.

Today, the building offers space for a wide range of activities and collaborations. Among the permanent residents are ORBITA, a group dedicated to experimental dance and movement art, and, until 2024, the screen-printing workshop BrnoTiskne, which in 2025 transitioned into the screen-printing studio Screeno. Students from FaVU, the Secondary School of Art and Design Brno (Husova), and the Kroužek Studio frequently use the former distillery for exhibitions and presentations. In 2023, Distillery took part in Brno Art Week and hosted the Reality Research Lab project, Divadlo Láska (Theatre of Love), and the Ugly Music Festival.
